Little Sienna may have been only twelve days old and still very tiny but she had tons of energy and was quite the little kicker. That was okay, I just got to spend more time with her and her lovely parents.


Even though she was wide awake most of the time, it was alright because she was an excellent poser. I may see a modeling career in her future…



… and now you see why Sienna is so beautiful. Congratulations Chelsea and Neil, you created one beautiful little girl.

This week all the hard work pays off. There are hundreds of volunteers who participate: actors, actresses, stage crew, dancers, makeup, sound & light crew, kitchen help, greeters, traffic directors, van drivers…. the list could probably go on. I have lost track of how many years I have been involved but I know it’s at least a decade now (yeah…. im getting old), but i’m sure everyone who has ever volunteered will agree: the time spent is well worth it!

This year we have had some major changes, including bringing in a production consultant, Paul DeRose, who used to work with Sight & Sound in Lancaster, Pa. I didn’t lie, right? So many wonderful and hilarious reactions!

I cannot thank you all enough for coming out to the studio and letting me take some fabulous Easter pictures of your children. It was extremely fun and exciting and I enjoyed meeting all of you. I am currently planning a special giveaway for my customers (who I have photographed) so far this year, so keep an eye out! I wanted to do something special to thank you for all of your support.

This sweet baby girl came into the studio two weeks ago to celebrate her first birthday. She was so tiny and precious. She definitely reminds me of a porcelain baby doll, so fragile and delicate.
To celebrate the occassion, her awesome momma even made her a smash cake to celebrate. We were able to capture a few pictures before she saw the cake. She needed that cake and she wasn’t taking no for an answer!

Gorgeous, right? I cannot wait to meet her new baby sister this summer- telling from Eva and her big brother… this new baby girl is going to be a doll too! Happy first Birthday Eva!!

This weekend I have 5 more sessions with the baby chicks, yay! & I can’t wait to share those on the blog too. Again, thank you to everyone who participated. It was alot of fun and I look forward to doing something similar again next year!

After this session, it was confirmed- I <3 newborn sessions! I recently created and posted “new beginnings” discount bundles and I already had one bundle booked this week. Definitely looking forward to her maternity session next month, followed up with a sweet baby boy newborn in June.

▪ ▪ WHERE TO BEGIN?!?! ▪ ▪

HELLO! So many changes have taken place this year it is unbelievable. So I will start at the very beginning. At the very beginning of 2013, I became a fulltime photographer. This was something I had dreamed of for almost 2 years, but never felt it was the right time.
There was so many fears (mainly, giving up my fulltime job with a secure income and health benefits). Yet, the timing was right – my husband, Josh, had just secured a fulltime job with great benefits and secure income.
So suddenly I was on the fast track (and I would be lying if I didnt admit to being a little intimidated). We finished part of our basement and built an inhome studio in ten days, I ordered new business cards (because frankly my old ones didnt scream “fulltime professional photographer”), I started collecting props and banners, advertising my business, and finally… started building my webpage.
I had purchased my webdomain in March of 2012, but left it blank with a simple “coming soon” banner. Finally, 10 months later I had the time and motivation to focus and create my ideal website. Although it is a work in progress, I am happy with the way it turned out.

▪ ▪ BUILD IT & THEY WILL COME ▪ ▪

At the very beginning of my studio build, I decided to offer a discounted price on my facebook page in hopes to draw some clients into my new studio. It didn’t take long to receive an email from a mother whose son’s second birthday was approaching in two weeks.
So with that deadline set I spent my days and most of my nights (stopping around 1am for 6 or so hours of sleep) spackling, sanding, painting, and cleaning – then repeat. Ten days later at 1am, I was finished and it was time to clean the studio and rearrange and organize props because I had an appointment with a two year old and his brother in a few hours.
It isn’t the most glorious studio but it is perfect for me. A small space to capture moments in time and to create photographs that last a lifetime. I didnt want anything over the top and fantasy because I still wanted to do “out of the studio” photoshoots and weddings as well. Yet, I needed a space for portraits, cake smashes, and my sweet newborns. This space is perfect and I am truly thankful to everyone who pitched in and help. My husband, our parents, and friends did an amazing job and I am so thankful for all of them.

So far I have had 3 visitors in the studio (Luke, Megan, & Kaitlyn) for their birthdays. It has been so much fun building new backdrops and creating new banners themed around their photoshoots.
In the next two weeks I have eight in studio sessions booked alone (one newborn, six easter sessions, and one bday cake smash) and I cannot be more excited! I still have plenty of spots open for our upcoming Easter Mini’s with LIVE Baby Chicks!

I love when children come into the studio. There is something so fun and exciting about capturing moments in time that passby too quickly during childhood. I know these are photos that will be looked back on years from now when loved ones wonder where has the time gone?

I also enjoy the creative aspect of children photoshoots. I love working with the parents to choose a theme or direction for the photoshoot. I have been known to stay up until four or five am finishing up a custom banner or prop for a photoshoot. My passion has always been being creative and having fun!

Sometimes we take advantage of the people in our lives. A family session is a greatway to capture a moment in time with the people most important to you. There is never a family to small or too large.

All kids say it: I can’t wait until I graduate!
Well, the time is here and it cannot be a more exciting yet challenging time in your lives.

Cake, Balloons, Streamers …. F.U.N! What else is left to say? I think the pictures speak for themselves….

One of the most exciting times in your life and it is truthfully an honor to even be considered your photographer. Months and maybe even years of preparation and it flies by before you know it. Try to enjoy it and take in as much as you can around you, but I will do everything within my power to capture all the moments and details and help them last a lifetime.
