It finally happened – I captured a proposal and it could not have been more thrilling! When Dan reached out to me 10 days before the big day, I knew I needed to make this happen for him no matter what. After many texts and emails back and forth – planning location, timing, & decorations – Saturday arrived and I was a bit worried as I drove toward Mt. Pleasant. The clouds were rolling in and lightning was striking in the distance.
As I pulled into the parking lot, I quickly shoved my gear into a waterproof bag, grabbed an umbrella and ran towards the spot we discussed. I could hear thunder in the distance and Hannah’s friends were running away from the proposal spot as I was running toward it, they had just finished setting everything up. I quickly ducked behind a tree on the hill side and waited, and prayed the rain would hold off.
The proposal was just perfect and eventually Hannah spotted me up on the hill. Though I had never met either of them previously, I felt like I knew them after spending the last 10 days discussing this big moment in their lives. We laughed about their day and how Hannah never suspected a thing, even though it was all making more sense to her now – like why her family insisted she get a manicure that morning.
Luckily the rain held off, so we were able to capture some pictures for the newly engaged couple. It was perfectly overcast, yet not too humid with the storm approaching.
I could not have asked for a better experience photographing my first proposal. I definitely would capture more in the future. Thank you so much Dan for allowing me to capture this special moment for you and Hannah. Congratulations again!
In July, I headed down to Point State Park to meet Brittany and Mike to capture their engagement photos. Little did we know, the park was packed – it was the first day of the Three Rivers Regetta! *slam hand to face* << my exact reaction when I got there and saw all the people and tents.
Luckily, once I made my way through the crowd and found this beautiful couple – everything went so smoothly! The weather, lighting, posing – everything fell together so perfectly. Check it out >>
Thank you so much to Brittany and Mike for contacting me to capture their photos! It was a wonderful experience and a privilege to meet such a lovely couple!
On December 17th, 2010 Scott took Alicia to Market Square in Pittsburgh, Pa where he asked her to be his bride! Now two and a half years later, I drove down to Pittsburgh to meet up with them and capture their engagement photos in that same spot!
Alicia made the cutest little heart shaped signs and I thought they were adorable! I just LOVE when clients bring props to customize their photos.
It was an unusually warm March day in Pittsburgh, which made our day walking around talking and capturing photos even better.
Despite all the commotion in Market Square on this beautiful Sunday Afternoon, we were still able to grab a quick photo to include the street sign of the location where they got engaged! <3
Now in less than 2 months I will have the honor of capturing this wonderful couples beautiful wedding day, and I cannot be more excited! Thank you Alicia & Scott for choosing me to capture all these wonderful memories for you! I will see you soon!
